LA LUCHA SIGUE (2020)

LA LUCHA SIGUE

La Lucha Sigue (The Struggle Continues) is a documentary by Mutual Aid Media, directed by Sam Vinal, about the Indigenous Lenca organization COPINH and its resistance against extractivist megaprojects in Honduras. The film centers on the legacy of Berta Cáceres, the internationally renowned environmental and Indigenous rights leader who was assassinated in 2016 for her work defending territory and water. After her murder, her daughter Berta Zúñiga Cáceres stepped into the fire to continue the fight.

This was the second major project taken on by Amplifier Films, with our editorial team working with footage shot by Sam Vinal and Melissa Cox to shape the emotional core and narrative flow of the documentary. The goal wasn’t just to document—it was to collaborate, and to ensure the film served the needs of the communities it represented.

A Movement-Rooted Edit

The editing process was done in direct consultation with Lenca and Garifuna community leaders, who provided continuous feedback to ensure the film aligned with their political vision and mission. This wasn’t about telling a story from the outside—it was about building a film with the people on the frontlines of resistance.

Every structural decision, every emotional beat, was made with care and intention to reflect the lived realities and collective power of Indigenous resistance in Honduras.
