Amplifier Films visited Camp Sovereignty in the heart of winter to document the protection of the territory during the harshest months of the year. The film gives voice to supporters of the camp, to Elders who are present on the land, and documents subsistence practices, including the trapping of a lynx. It shows that Atikamekw culture is alive and well, practiced on the land, outside the reserve, deep in the forest.

This visit is part of an ongoing media support effort spanning more than five years alongside land defenders. These images are part of a long-term documentation of a struggle that is still unfolding, for a feature-length documentary currently in development titled Defenders of the Forest.

Camp Sovereignty urgently needs financial and material support in order to continue its work throughout the winter.
